This was my first time to Gaharu Tea Valley Gopeng. The plantation located within the quaint little town of Gopeng. Currently, here (300 he) has more than 200,000 trees of a special 12 in 1 hybrid Aquilaria spp. According to the shuttle driver, a Japanese guy brought the tree to Malaysia.
入口处
Main entrance, the design looks like" Great Wall of China".
The entrance fee is RM 10 for adult and RM 5 for kid.
Everyone will be given a pack of HOGA Gaharu tea bag.
The shuttle van will run around the park and it will stop at
1. The viewing stage, 2. Hugging park and 3. Lover's tree park
First stop: The viewing stage
Really a great view. The plantation area is huge.
The best point of this stop is can enjoy the lush green view and breathing in the fresh air
Second stop: The hugging park
According to the driver, hugging the trees can provide some positive energy.
I not sure is it true?? but I hugging the trees.
Actually agarwood is a dark resinous heartwood that forms in Aquilaria tree when the tree is infected with a type of mould. Agarwood is reputed to be the most expensive wood in the world and valued in many cultures for its distinctive fragrance.
The last stop: The Lover's tree park
We bought a tree from Gaharu Tea Valley, maybe it will produce agarwood.
Actually, the valley also sell many products related to agarwood like instant noodle, biscuits and accessories. The gaharu ice cream is very nice.
On the way back to Ipoh, we stop at Kellie's castle, Batu Gajah.
Kellie's castle is really beautiful. It can competitive with other castles in Europe.
However, it is not popular and well-known.
Keliie's castle is an unfinished, ruined mansion, build by a Scottish planter named William Kellie Smith in 1915. It was either a gift for his wife or a home for him son. This castle was used as a setting in 1999 film Anna and the king.
