I attended a conference at Vienna. Before the conference, my family and I planned to travel and visit some places. This time, we took Etihad airway from Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam.
We arrived Amsterdam at 2 pm. It was a long queue at the custom. It took us around 1 hour.
Amsterdam airport- Amsterdam city center
The easiest and fastest way to reach Amsterdam city center is by train. Schiphol train station is located below the airport. From the arrival hall, just use the escalator go down to the Schiphol Plaza. The ticket can be purchased from the yellow ticket machines in the plaza. Amsterdam is just 15 minutes travel time from Schiphol Airport. You can either purchase 1-day Amsterdam Travel Ticket (15 euro) or a single trip from airport to Amsterdam city center ( it was 21.10 euro for 4 persons). I purchased single trip because 1-day ticket was not worth for me.
Luggage storage @ Amsterdam Central station
The serving luggage storage lockers in Amsterdam Central Station are in the East wing of the station ( right side of the building looking from the city center). The rental for the locker can be paid by credit card. It is open daily from 5 am to 1 am. The self-operated locker at the central station are in two sizes, the bugger is 90 x 60 x 40 cm ( for luggage 28") and the smaller is 90 x 45x 40 cm (for luggage 24"). The rate for a small locker is 7 euro for first 24 hour and the bigger locker is 10 euro for 24 hours.
Amsterdam transport
There are a number different Amsterdam public transport passes available for the visitor. According to my experience, it think the most convenient option for tourist is either purchase day card or one-hour card. You can directly purchase from the conductor or driver on the tram. I purchased 1-hour card which 11.60 euro for 4 persons. If you not have small note, better purchased advance from the conductor.
Amsterdam city center
We took tram 2 ( tram 2 and 5) at station which located at the left side of Amsterdam Central Station. We stopped at Rijksmuseum tram stop. It is just 5 minutes walking distance to reach the slogan. After photo session, we took tram 2 back and we stopped at wrong station. We walked nearly 1 hour to go back Amsterdam Central Station.

waiting city night rail to Munchen, Germany
Night Rail
Night train from Amsterdam to Munich is CNL 419. The train ticket can either purchase from Bahn.com or https://www.nsinternational.nl/en/trains/nighttrain. I strongly suggested purchase the ticket from Bahn because it is at least 10 euro cheaper compare to NSinternational. It costed me 59 euro for a bed in 6 sleepers coach. My train was not directly reached Munich. I need take an IC from Amsterdam Centraal to Utrecht Centraal followed by night train from Utretcht Centraal to Munich. According to the train ticket, I should take IC 3075 at 20:23 but the train was delay. Therefore, I immediately took another train at 20:20 to Utrecht. I will recommend to take earlier IC to Utrecht to avoid miss the night train.
Summary of my expenses:
- Etihad airway (Kuala-Lumpur- Amsterdam with return): RM2000
- Amsterdam night train ( Amsterdam- Munich): 59 euro pp
- Luggage storage: 10 euro per piece
- U-Bahn from Schipol airport- Amsterdam Centraal: 21.10 euro (4p)
- Tram ticket (1 -hour ticket): 11.60 euro (4p)
