28th Oct 2016: Salzburg & Vienna

Today afternoon, we took train to Vienna.
We visited the city center of Salzburg at the morning before departure to Vienna.

Parish Church St. Andra
Here has a counter selling ticket for hop on and hop off bus.
It is a neo-Gothic church on Mirabellplatz square, facing the palace of Mirabell.

Church of the Holy Trinity
It is a Roman Catholic church in Salzburg and designed as a central building in 17th century.

A statue at Makartplatz
Markart Square is bounded by the facade of the magnificent Church of the Holy Trinity.
The church is the most significant sacred building on the right bank of the old town of Salzburg.

Mirabell Palace is a historical building in the city of Salzburg.
Several scenes from The Sound of Music were filmed here.
For example, Maria and the children sing " Do-Re-Mi" while dancing around the horse fountain and using the steps as a musical scale.

Salzburg- Vienna
It took 2.5 hours to reach Vienna. All the train depart from Salzburg Hbf train station and arrive at either Wien Hbf or Westbanhof. Two companies offer the train service and they are OBB and Westbahn. It is suggested to buy the train ticket early to get the cheapest ticket. I bought my tickets from OBB (because it was cheaper compared to Westbahn) and they costed me 76 euros for 4 persons.

I book JL apartment for 4 adults. It was 406.84 euros for 4 persons for 5 nights. The price was reasonable. The apartment is fully equipped with kitchenette.  It is very easy to access to the public transport. The nearest station is TaborstraBe (U2 line).

From Wien Hbf, I took S-bahn-line (direction to Penzing) and changed to  U-2 line at Praterstern station.
